Our Purpose

The Stewardship Council exists to guard the vision, the theological and pedagogical foundations; they guide the long-term direction of Christian Montessori formation under the Vineyard Institute trademark.

The Council supports Vineyard Institute remains faithful to Montessori's developmental science, Christian spiritual formation, the biblical view of the child, and the original vision inspired by the speech Maria Montessori made on January 6, 1907, at the opening of the Casa Dei Bambini, San Lorenzo.

Bola Kalejaiye

Bola Kalejaiye

Founder & Director

A teacher, mother to four adult sons, and alloparent to many children and young adults. She describes herself as a childhood advocate. She is passionate about the total well-being of the Nigerian child. This passion led to the founding of several child centered organizations, including Discovery House Montessori School and Vineyard Institute.

Her first career was in Computer Science, in which she holds a degree from the University of Lagos. After a few years working in Shell Petroleum Development Company, she quit her job at Shell and became a home maker. Her youngest son was enrolled in a Montessori school recommended by a family friend. This was the beginning of her recognizing her calling to children.

She was credentialed for early childhood in 2003 at the National Center for Montessori Education in Houston. She has subsequently undertaken Montessori 6-12 and 0-3 training. In her private life, she has taught in children's church and was also a youth ministry and women's ministry leader for many years.

Pastor Gregory Atiyota

Pastor Gregory Atiyota

Spiritual Advisor

Gregory Atiyota, graduated from the University of Benin in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and holds a diploma in ministry from Love world Ministerial College. Transitioning from business to ministry, he founded Kingdom Impact Christian Center International, formerly Faith world Ministries.

Atiyota leads the Ministry and Leadership Development Institute (MLDI) and organizes the Apostolic Revival Conference (ARC). As an acclaimed author and speaker, he hosts a weekly Online Bible Study and serves on corporate boards. Based in Lagos, Nigeria, he impacts many through his teachings and ministry engagements worldwide.

Pastor Greg as he is fondly known at Discovery House, has provided spiritual guidance and counseling to our school for as long as the school has been in existence.

Dr. Awolumate Samuel

Dr. Awolumate Samuel

Educational Consultant

Dr. Samuel Awolumate, a devoted educator and fisheries expert, prioritizes sustainability across academia, environment, and society. With over a decade of experience, he serves as a Senior Lecturer at the National Open University of Nigeria, specializing in fisheries management, aquaculture, and sustainable agriculture.

In leadership, he directs the Directorate for Entrepreneurship and General Studies, previously holding significant roles within the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. His impactful research focuses on sustainable fisheries management and climate change adaptation, reflected in esteemed publications. Advocating for holistic education, he emphasizes total development beyond academics.

Committed to entrepreneurship and environmental stewardship, he envisions innovative solutions to global challenges. As DE&GS Director, he bridges academia with practical applications, fostering positive transformations in climate change, gender equality, and conflict resolution. His influence extends nationally, promoting sustainable practices and positive change.

Actively engaged in professional associations, including the Fisheries Society of Nigeria Dr. Awolumate's leadership and commitment to sustainability drive transformative impact globally. "Pastor Sam" as he is fondly addressed at Discovery House has provided prophetic guidance and nurture to our school for over a decade.

Dr. Tosin Babalola

Dr. 'Tosin Babalola

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. 'Tosin Babalola is passionate about helping parents understand their children's unique learning styles. She collaborates with parents and experts, working with children who have special needs and learning challenges to help them reach their full potential. Dr. Babalola excels in early identification of developmental and cognitive issues, ensuring children receive opportunities comparable to those in mainstream education. Her belief in the fulfillment of witnessing a child's growth is central to her work.

Dr. Babalola's educational journey began with a degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from the University of Lagos. She specialized in Special Educational Needs at the University of Roehampton, London, and earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Leicester. She has enhanced her expertise with various international training programs, including a focus on language skills at Harvard.

She is also a registered member of the British Psychological Society, underscoring her commitment. Dr. Babalola was instrumental in establishing the Bridge program at Discovery House and continues to provide support to the team despite her busy schedule.

Mr Oluwatofunmi Kalejaiye

Mr Oluwatofunmi Kalejaiye

Technology Advisor

Oluwatofunmi Kalejaiye is a highly skilled Computer Engineer with a unique academic background. Having earned a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Physics from Emory University, and a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University, Mr. Kalejaiye brings a diverse set of skills to the table.

With nearly 4 years of experience at NVIDIA, Mr. Kalejaiye specializes in developing cutting-edge hardware solutions for Artificial Intelligence and High-Performance Computing. Proficient in designing and optimizing computer hardware systems for AI and HPC applications, Mr. Kalejaiye stands out due to their also strong foundation in philosophical inquiry, which fosters innovative problem-solving approaches.

This interdisciplinary background and technical expertise gives Mr. Kalejaiye a unique perspective on how to leverage technology to enhance educational initiatives and drive innovation in learning environments.

Tomi was a Montessori child and it was as a Montessori parent attending a parent's night at his school that his mother recognised her calling.
