Equipping adults to advance God's kingdom through education
Vineyard Institute is committed to equipping adults called to advance God's kingdom through education: to nurture children who will think and act in God's image and likeness; to guide their development of knowledge, skills, and capacities, using Montessori principles and practice.
Introductory Courses
An entry point for educators, parents, caregivers, and those discerning a call to Christian Montessori work. These 12-week virtual courses introduce the core understanding of human development, spiritual foundations, environment preparation, and level-specific essentials.
Catechesis of The Good Shepherd
CGS is Montessori principles applied to the spiritual formation of children, available at 3 levels. Level 1 prepares adults to serve children between 3 and 6 years of age. Level 1 is a prerequisite for level 2. Each level requires that the adult has completed the level before it.
We hope to offer the level 1 course in the summer of 2026.

Infant & Toddler Education
The earliest years are the foundation of every future capacity—movement, language, order, attachment, peace, and the beginnings of contemplation. This diploma prepares educators for the sacred work of accompanying infants and toddlers.
Ages 3-6 Education
The 3-6 environment is the heart of classic Montessori work—where concentration, character, and joyful independence blossom. This diploma forms teachers who can guide children cognitively, spiritually, and socially with depth and precision.
Ages 6-12 Education
For the child of the second plane—driven by imagination, justice, large questions, and a hunger for moral coherence—this diploma offers a deeply integrated approach. Educators learn to lead children into wisdom, wonder, responsibility, and global awareness.
At the end of the journey to a diploma issued by the Vineyard Institute, our graduates have:
Knowledge of spiritual formation, Montessori philosophy and human development theories
Mastery of the scope, sequence, and correct use of materials in all curriculum areas
Skills in scientific observation, assessment, and documentation of children's progress
Principles for the design and setup of prepared environments
Leadership competencies to turn theory to practice and establish partnerships
Self-development principles and methods for continuous growth
